In 2003 / 2004 I got the inspiration fro creating two shorts, 3 to 4 minutes each, using Cinema4D.
The ‘blocks’ version of Mirror in Mirror came first. I learned the basics of object, light and camera variation, and could do my final titling in 3D as well. Some scenes appeared to reflection intense, and so calculation intense that they took a whole day per frame.
The ‘smart’ version of Mirror in Mirror forced me to model a car. This Smart was not available on the net by then, and required a steep learning curve in itself. Adding it into the animation required proper wheel rotation along the various tracks too.
After that, I was ready to create Merry Go Round which is the vision that builds up in my head anytime I hear that particular piece of music. Can’t help it, but now I had it visualized.
